About
The Blackwater Céilí Band hails from the Clogher Valley in County Tyrone, at the heart of Ulster's rich musical tradition. Formed in 2015, they have quickly built a reputation as one of the leading céilí bands in Irish traditional music, known for their drive, precision and distinctive Ulster sound. In 2018, they reached a major milestone, winning the Senior All-Ireland Céilí Band title at Fleadh Cheoil na hÉireann in Drogheda - one of only three Ulster bands ever to do so. Since then, they have toured widely across Ireland and Britain, sharing their energetic style with audiences far and wide. Their debut album, Music in the Valley (2019), was followed by Northern Landscape, both receiving outstanding acclaim. Performing at Fleadh Cheoil na hÉireann is always a highlight for the band and this year is extra special, as Belfast takes on the role as host venue for the first ever time. The band is looking forward to performing in front of an energetic home crowd!
