Donegal’s all-female supergroup, Sí Fiddlers will create the power of 13 fiddles moving as one, with talent stretching from Glencolumcille to Inishowen and everywhere in between. Although the fiddle has long been associated with County Donegal, it is only recently that female fiddlers are being recognised and celebrated. This group brings together some of the finest fiddlers to represent a huge tradition in Donegal and their repertoire covers all parts of the county.

Equally skilled is acclaimed uilleann piper Conor Mallon from Keady, who will captivate crowds with his extraordinary skill alongside his band members. Conor is a Senior County, Ulster and All-Ireland Champion on uilleann pipes in Fleadh Cheoil na hÉireann and has won many other awards. Conor started his musical career with the Armagh Pipers Club where he attended Uilleann Pipe lessons. He has progressed through ranks to become one of the senior teachers at the club before touring in a full-time capacity. Categorised as the one leading pipers in his generation, Conor will be joined by an all-star line-up of including Paul Starrett (electric guitar), Jack Warnock (acoustic guitar and vocals) as well as Fintan Mulholland (bodhrán and whistles).

The Gig Rig will offer performances from 11am to 11pm each day. A full lineup of artists including stage times will be announced soon.

The Fleadh’s Gig Rig daytime programme brings the energy and atmosphere of the fleadh right into the heart of Belfast city centre. Set against the iconic backdrop of Belfast City Hall, this free outdoor concert series showcases an exciting mix of national and international performers, featuring traditional music, song, dance, céilí bands and large ensembles.

Throughout the week, audiences can enjoy performances from Comhaltas branches and visiting artists from across Ireland and around the world, alongside youth orchestras, community collaborations and outstanding local talent. With a packed programme running daily, the Gig Rig offers a welcoming and accessible way for everyone to experience the richness, creativity and infectious spirit of Ireland’s living traditional arts.
