Belfast Bikes is the public bike share scheme for Belfast.

The scheme launched in 2015 and is managed by Belfast City Council. The current sponsor is Frank and Honest Coffee and the new operator is Beryl.

The new scheme operated by Beryl, launched on 17 September with 100 electric bikes thanks to funding from the Department for Infrastructure’s Active Travel fund.

To sign up for the new scheme, search for ‘Beryl’ in your app store to download the app and register.

Use the Beryl app to check for your closest available bike. You can choose from a pedal bike or electric bike.

With over 50 docking stations and 400 bikes located across the city, it’s the sustainable, convenient way to get around.

For regular users, discounted minute bundles (from 100 to up to 3,000 minutes) are available.

Students can also get 25 per cent discount off minute bundles. To get a student discount, sign up with your academic email address and use promo code: STUDENT25. The code is valid from September 2025 until August 2026.
