Wander the pathways of rural Ulster and meet historical characters nestled in welcoming farmhouses. Collect your ticket and board the Brig Union in the Ship & Dockside Gallery. Emerge to discover how Ulster people created a new life on the other side of the Atlantic.
To make the most of your visit, they recommend you give yourself between 2 and 3 hours to explore all that the museum has to offer, including the ‘Under the Hawthorn Tree’ exhibition. Under the Hawthorn Tree is a family-friendly exhibition based on the children’s novel by bestselling Irish author Marita Conlon-McKenna, exploring the famine in an immersive and multi-sensory way.
Makers café is open from 10-4 pm Tuesday to Sunday. The café offers a wide selection of hot and cold food and refreshments including sandwiches, soup, paninis and wraps. Enjoy buns and sweet treats with a cup of tea or coffee! There are picnic benches throughout the park and an indoor seating area for those who would like to bring a packed lunch.
