The Black Box is a 240-capacity, multidisciplinary arts venue located in the Cathedral Quarter of Belfast. First established in 2006, it has become a key space in the city for experiencing innovative, grassroots, radical and - most importantly - accessible work. With a programme spanning live music, theatre, literature, comedy, cabaret, film and more, The Black Box supports emerging and established artists alike, creating space for experimentation, collaboration and new voices.

Alongside their cultural programme, The Black Box is a welcoming place to spend your evening - with a carefully curated selection of local craft beers behind the bar, a vibrant live music offering, and a calendar of late-night events that invite audiences to gather, connect and celebrate. Annually, The Black Box hosts over 700 events, and works closely with local festivals and promoters. You’re guaranteed to come across a unique performance!

They are committed to equitable access and believe in removing barriers to creativity and cultural engagement. As a charity, they run year-round outreach with the learning-disabled community in Belfast - programmes like Black Moon, a learning-disabled led club night; Mini Moon, a sensory disco for children with disabilities; and a disabled-led Social Café. They're also proud to host the Northern Irish branch of the international Gig Buddies project.
