A UNESCO World Heritage site, the Giant's Causeway is a magnificent, mysterious geological formation on the North East coast of County Antrim.
The Giant's Causeway is steeped in myths and legend. The setting is a spectacular, dynamic coastal landscape of Atlantic waves, rugged cliffs, fascinating geographical antiquity, secluded bays and magnificent views. It forms a jagged headland of neatly packed columns which point towards Scotland. Visitors can walk along the basalt columns which are at the edge of the sea, just over 1km from the entrance to the site.
Giant’s Causeway Visitor Experience tickets include guided tours with a member of the story-telling team, access to the Visitor Centre interpretation and exhibition area, cafe, shop, use of audio guides available in 11 languages, reserved on-site parking and use of all facilities within the award-winning Visitor Centre.
Visitor Experience ticket holders can also make use of a range of accessibility equipment, including motorised scooters and wheelchairs. This equipment is available on a first come, first served basis. Please speak to a member of staff at the Visitor Information Desk within the Visitor Centre if you would like to borrow equipment to aid your enjoyment of your visit to the World Heritage Site.
Booking your visit
The Giant’s Causeway is a popular destination, particularly during peak times, such as Bank Holidays and throughout the summer months.
For the best rates, pre-book your Visitor Experience tickets via the official Giant’s Causeway website prior to travelling to the site. Pre-booking in advance helps the team to prepare for your arrival and to spread visitor numbers more evenly throughout the day, improving everyone’s experience.
National Trust Members and Local Pass Holders gain free access, however pre-booking is strongly recommended for everyone.
Causeway Coast Way Car Park at Innisfree Farm, 60 Causeway Road is available for parking at £12 per vehicle for walkers to access the network of coastal paths. This is payable via the JustPark app, which can be downloaded from Google Play and App Store. National Trust Members can park for free by entering their membership number on the app.

Campervans and motorhomes are welcome.
There are very limited, designated spaces available for campervans that fit in a standard car parking space (4.8m x 2.25m), which are reserved for Visitor Experience ticket holders and National Trust Members.
Got a bigger campervan? The Park and Ride facility in Dundarave Car Park in Bushmills village can accommodate campervans of a larger size. Here, you can arrive at your leisure and save on your Visitor Experience tickets by purchasing a ‘Green Ticket’ from the Bushmills Visitor Information Centre, allowing you to park, and travel to and from the Giant’s Causeway via a local bus service operated by Translink. The Green Ticket includes your bus fare and admission into the Visitor Experience. Before heading home, be sure to take a stroll through Bushmills village and explore the local offering!
Translink Accessible Bus
The Translink Accessible Bus shuttle service is in operation at the Giant's Causeway World Heritage Site, running from the rear of the Visitor Centre to the Grand Causeway and return.
This shuttle service is operated by Translink and there is a separate charge of £1/ 1.20Euro for use of this service, intended for visitors who could not walk independently to and from the stones themselves. It is requested that priority is given to visitors in need of this service.
National Trust members can use this Accessible Bus service for free on production of a valid membership card.
This shuttle service accepts card payments and is accessible by wheelchairs, with priority seating areas to the front for passengers requiring easy access.

Trails and Walks
Four walking trails will give you the chance to explore the Giant’s Causeway at your own pace. Colour coded, the trails are designed for all levels of fitness, incorporating the Giant’s Causeway stones, stunning cliff-top vistas and spectacular seascapes.
Clifftop Experience
There is so much more to the Giant’s Causeway than the popular main site with its 40,000 UNESCO basalt polygonal columns. The National Trust proudly work in partnership with Away a Wee Walk to deliver a guided 5 mile cliff top experience along the famous Causeway cliffs. Parking at the site and checking into the Visitor Centre at the Causeway, a walking guide will then take you out to Dunseverick Castle ruin via public transport to commence a breath-taking 5 mile (8km) hike along amazing cliffs to arrive at the Giant’s Causeway. Full tour from beginning to end takes 3.5 to 4 hours.

Departure Time: 12.15pm inside the Giant’s Causeway Visitor Centre. It is recommended that you aim to arrive on site no later than 12.00 noon.
Wear: It is strongly recommended that good walking boots or shoes are worn. A raincoat is essential, even if it only stays in your bag. Wear light layers that can be added or removed, ideally with something wind proof. Please avoid wearing jeans.
Bring: A light, portable lunch or snacks and some water, in a small back pack. Optional seasonal comforts to include hats, gloves or sunscreen!

Availability: The Clifftop Experience runs daily from March to October, and runs on weekends only from November – February. Please ensure to book 72 hours in advance of your visit to allow the team to prepare for your arrival. Tours do sell out so we recommend booking as soon as you know your tour date. Tours require a minimum of at least two people.
