In the hilly hinterland of Holywood, this forest offers walks on well marked paths through a mixture of mature conifers and young trees.
It is a haven of serenity, with excellent views towards Bangor and far beyond.
Cairnwood is located along the back road leading from Church Road towards Dundonald, and is signposted near Ballysallagh Road. This area is a prime location for rambling and orienteering, with well marked trails within the wood.
Occasionally there may be restricted access to parts of the forest during forestry work. Please pay attention to safety advice on forest signs.
