About
The award-winning Northern Whig offers great food and drink with even better hospitality.
Acting as a gateway to the Cathedral Quarter and only a 5-minute walk from Belfast city hall, this versatile yet stylish establishment offers the best in local produce as well as great Belfast hospitality. Whether it’s to dance a Saturday night away on the tiles or enjoy a hearty Sunday lunch with the family, the luxurious surrounds of the Northern Whig are a no-brainer when choosing your city centre destination. The grand, listed building provides an enticing backdrop for those wanting to watch the world go by in the beer garden; while the traditional styled interior offers a blend of intimate spaces combined with an open-plan lounge where you can enjoy a delicious meal or sample one of the many refreshing cocktails that the Whig is renowned for.
The Benjamin Franklin
Tucked away in the historic Sugar House Entry, The Benjamin Franklin is the atmospheric sister bar to The Northern Whig — a cosy hideout steeped in Belfast’s past. Once believed to be a meeting place of the United Irishmen, today it’s an intimate, character-filled spot where great pints, warm craic and easy conversation come naturally. A little slice of history, poured fresh.
